Biography

Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military commander and emperor who fundamentally changed warfare through innovative use of artillery, rapid maneuver tactics, and the corps system. Rising from Corsican obscurity to master of Europe, he won campaigns at Austerlitz, Jena, and Wagram before overreach in Russia and the Peninsular War led to his downfall. His campaigns are still studied in military academies worldwide.
